Rava Laddoo

Rava laddoo is one of the items that are prepared during the Diwali festival.

Ingredients

  • 2 cups Rava (Use fine rava, not coarse rava)
  • 1.75 cups Sugar
  • 0.75 cup Ghee (Liquid ghee)
  • 0.5 unit/count Coconut, grated (1/2 of whole coconut)
  • 0.75 cup Water
  • 0 optional Cashews (Fried in ghee, optional)
  • 0 optional Raisins (Fried in ghee, optional)

Instructions

  1. 1In a pan, heat the ghee and add the rava. Fry the rava until it is aromatic and lightly golden. Add the grated coconut and continue to fry for an additional 2 minutes.
  2. 2In a separate pot, dissolve the sugar in water and bring it to a boil. Continue boiling until the syrup reaches a thin string consistency, known as 'ek taari paak'.
  3. 3Add the fried rava and coconut mixture into the sugar syrup. Mix thoroughly and allow it to cool.
  4. 4Once the mixture has cooled, mix well and shape into medium-sized balls. You can make approximately 15-20 laddoos. Optionally, add cashews and raisins fried in ghee for additional flavor.
