Aloo Parantha/Potato Stuffed Indian Bread

Ingredients

  • 4 units Potatoes, boiled and mashed
  • 500 grams Wheat flour
  • 1 teaspoon Ajwain (Carrom seeds)
  • 50 grams Coriander leaves, chopped
  • 3 units Green chillies, chopped
  • 0.5 teaspoon Red chilli powder
  • 0.5 teaspoon Salt
  • 250 milliliters Water (Approximate amount for kneading dough)
  • 50 grams Butter or ghee (For cooking paranthas)

Instructions

  1. 1In a large bowl, combine 500 grams of wheat flour, 0.25 teaspoon of salt, and 0.5 teaspoon of ajwain. Gradually add water and knead to form a soft dough.
  2. 2In another bowl, mash 4 boiled potatoes. Add 0.25 teaspoon of salt, 0.25 teaspoon of ajwain, chopped coriander leaves, chopped green chillies, and 0.5 teaspoon of red chilli powder. Mix thoroughly.
  3. 3Divide the dough into 50-gram balls. Flatten each ball, place a portion of the potato mixture in the center, and fold the edges over to enclose the filling. Roll out into a round shape.
  4. 4Heat a tawa or pan over medium heat. Place a parantha on the tawa and cook until golden brown on both sides, applying butter or ghee as needed. Repeat with remaining paranthas.
