Chicken Pakora
Chicken pakora is a popular fast food in Kolkata and throughout India. It is simple to prepare and delicious to eat.
Ingredients
- 500 grams Chicken
- 0.5 cup All purpose flour
- 0.5 cup Corn flour
- 1 tablespoon Ginger garlic paste
- 0.5 teaspoon Turmeric
- 1 teaspoon Red chilli powder
- 1 teaspoon Cumin powder
- 1 teaspoon Coriander powder
- 1 teaspoon Garam masala
- 1 teaspoon Salt (Adjust to taste)
- 0.5 unit Lemon (Juiced)
- 1 unit Egg
- 1 pinch Red food color
- 1 tablespoon Plain yogurt
- 500 milliliters Oil (For deep frying)

Instructions
- 1In a bowl, combine the chicken with ginger garlic paste, turmeric, red chilli powder, cumin powder, coriander powder, garam masala, salt, lemon juice, red food color, and plain yogurt. Mix thoroughly to coat the chicken evenly. Allow it to marinate for 40-45 minutes.
- 2In a separate bowl, mix the all-purpose flour and corn flour. This will be used to coat the marinated chicken before frying.
- 3Heat oil in a deep karai over medium flame. Coat the marinated chicken pieces in the flour mixture and carefully place them in the hot oil. Fry until golden brown and cooked through, approximately 5-6 minutes per batch.
- 4Remove the pakoras from the oil using a slotted spoon and drain on paper towels. Serve hot with tomato sauce or chutney.
