RAISIN BREAD

Ingredients
- 1/4 cup Raisins
- 1 large Egg (For glaze)
- 1 tablespoon Water (For glaze)
- 2 tablespoons Butter (or vegetable shortening) (For greasing pans. Originally lard. Substituted with butter for modern preference. Can also use vegetable shortening for similar texture.)
Instructions
- 1Make dough as directed for Butterbarches, using one-quarter cup of raisins and omitting the lemon and egg.
- 2Form dough into loaves. Fill well-greased pans half full; cover and let rise until light, about one hour.
- 3Glaze with egg diluted with water, and bake in a preheated oven at 375°F (190°C) for 45 minutes.
