Ingredients

  • 2 cups Brown sugar
  • 2 cups Honey
  • 6 count Egg yolks
  • 3 cups All-purpose flour

  • 3 teaspoons Ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 teaspoon Ground cloves
  • 1/2 teaspoon Ground nutmeg
  • 1/2 teaspoon Ground allspice

  • 1 cup Raisins
  • 1/2 ounce Citron, cut in small pieces
  • 1/2 ounce Candied orange peel, cut in small pieces
  • 1/2 pound Almonds, coarsely chopped
  • 3 count Egg whites

Instructions

  1. 1In a large bowl, mix together the brown sugar, honey, and egg yolks until well combined.
  2. 2In a separate bowl, sift together the flour, salt, cinnamon, cloves, nutmeg, allspice, and baking soda.
  3. 3Add the raisins, citron, candied orange peel, and chopped almonds to the dry ingredients. Mix well.
