Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup All-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon Baking soda
  • 3 tablespoons Molasses
  • 1 tablespoon Butter
  • 2 cups Bran cereal
  • 1 1/2 cups Whole milk
  • 1/2 teaspoon Salt
  • 1/2 cup Chopped dates or raisins (optional)

Instructions

  1. 1In a medium bowl, sift the flour and baking soda together.
  2. 2In a separate bowl, mix the molasses and butter. Add the bran and milk, then add the flour mixture and salt. Stir until just combined.
  3. 3If desired, fold in the chopped dates or raisins.
  4. 4Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Fill muffin pans and bake for 30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
