Mint Beer (Alternative Method)

A refreshing mint-flavored beer drink made with fresh mint juice or bruised leaves, sweetened with sugar, and mixed with water and beer. A simpler alternative to the traditional mint beer preparation.

Ingredients

  • 0.25 cup Fresh mint leaves, bruised (Or use 2-3 tablespoons mint juice)
  • 2 tablespoons Sugar (Adjust to taste)
  • 2 cups Cold water (Chilled or room temperature)
  • 2 quarts Beer (Preferably chilled)
  • 1 cup Crushed ice (Optional if beer and water are pre-chilled)

Instructions

  1. 1Bruise fresh mint leaves by pressing them with the back of a spoon or muddling them gently to release their oils and juice. Alternatively, extract juice from fresh mint leaves.
  2. 2Add sugar to the bruised mint leaves or mint juice and mix well until the sugar begins to dissolve.
  3. 3Pour the cold water and beer into a large tankard or pitcher. Add the sweetened mint mixture.
  4. 4Stir the mixture well to combine all ingredients. Add crushed ice to chill, or ensure the beer and water were pre-chilled before mixing.
  5. 5Serve immediately in glasses or mugs while cold and refreshing.
