Ingredients

  • 4 onions Onions
  • 1/2 cup Bread crumbs
  • 1 tablespoon Tomato pulp
  • 1 tablespoon Butter
  • 1 teaspoon Fresh parsley, chopped
  • 1 tablespoon Pimento, chopped
  • 1 egg Egg yolk
  • 1/4 cup Cooked celery, chopped
  • 1/2 teaspoon Salt

Instructions

  1. 1Wash and peel the onions. In a large pot, bring water to a boil. Add the onions and cook for 10 minutes. Remove the onions and rinse with cold water to make them firm. Carefully push out the centers of the onions, leaving the outer layers intact.
  2. 2In a bowl, mix together the bread crumbs, tomato pulp, butter, parsley, pimento, salt, egg yolk, and celery. Cook the mixture in a pan for 1 minute, stirring constantly.
  3. 3Place the onions in a well-buttered baking pan. Carefully fill each onion case with the filling mixture. Place in a moderate oven preheated to 350°F (175°C) and bake for 20 minutes, or until the onions are tender.
