Ingredients
- 2 large Large Spanish onions
- 3 tablespoons Soft bread crumbs
- 1 teaspoon Egg
- 1/2 teaspoon Chopped parsley
- 1/2 teaspoon Salt
- 2 teaspoons Melted butter
- 1/2 teaspoon Celery salt
- 1/4 cup Milk
Instructions
- 1Bring a pot of water to a boil. Add the whole onions and cook until tender, but not broken, about 10-15 minutes. When a fork pierces them easily, drain the water and rinse the onions in cold water to firm them up for stuffing.
- 2Carefully remove the centers of the cooked onions. Chop the removed onion portions finely and add them to a bowl with the bread crumbs, egg, parsley, salt, melted butter, and celery salt. Mix thoroughly to combine.
- 3Fill the onion holes with the prepared mixture. Place the stuffed onions in a small baking pan. Sprinkle the remaining salt over the onions and pour the milk over them. Bake in a moderate oven preheated to 350°F (175°C) for 20 minutes, or until the onions are tender and the filling is heated through.
