Paneer Bhurji

Quick and easy paneer recipe that goes very well with roti.

Ingredients

  • 0.5 lb Paneer, crumbled (Crumbled)
  • 1 unit/count Onions, finely chopped (Finely chopped)
  • 2 unit/count Tomatoes, finely chopped (Finely chopped)
  • 4 unit/count Green chillies, finely chopped (Finely chopped)
  • 2 tsp Ginger garlic paste
  • 0.5 tsp Turmeric
  • 2 tsp Red chilli powder
  • 2 tsp Pav bhaji masala
  • 1 handful Cilantro, finely chopped (Finely chopped)
  • 1 tbsp Ghee
  • 1 tsp Cumin seeds
  • 1 to taste Salt
  • 0.25 cup Water (Add if mixture is too dry)

Instructions

  1. 1If using store-bought paneer, soak it in warm water for 10 minutes to soften. Cut into medium-sized pieces and crumble by hand until a crumbly texture is achieved.
  2. 2Heat ghee in a pan over medium heat. Add cumin seeds and fry for 1 minute. Add chopped green chillies and onions, cooking until onions are transparent and slightly pink.
  3. 3Stir in the ginger garlic paste and cook for 2 minutes until fragrant.
  4. 4Add chopped tomatoes, turmeric, and red chilli powder. Cook until tomatoes are fully softened. Stir in pav bhaji masala and cook for an additional 2 minutes.
  5. 5If the mixture is too dry, add a little water. Add crumbled paneer and salt, mixing well. Cover and cook on medium flame for 2 minutes.
  6. 6Garnish with finely chopped cilantro and turn off the heat. Serve hot with roti.
