Palak Paneer | Instant Pot

The classic palak paneer dish, prepared effortlessly in an Instant Pot for a quick and delicious meal.

Ingredients

  • 5 oz Spinach
  • 1 medium Tomatoes (Chopped)
  • 1 medium Onions (Chopped)
  • 1 pinch Salt (To taste)
  • 1.5 tsp Ginger Garlic Paste
  • 0.5 cup Whole Milk
  • 1 tsp Sugar
  • 1 tbsp Kasoori Methi
  • 12 oz Paneer (Cut into small cubes)
  • 1 tsp Garam Masala
  • 1 tsp Cumin Seeds
  • 4 count Green Chillies (Slit vertically)
  • 2 tbsp Ghee
  • 0.5 tsp Crushed Kasoori Methi (Crushed)
  • 1 tsp Turmeric
  • 1 tsp Red Chilli Powder
  • 1 tbsp Coriander Powder
  • 1 cup Water

Instructions

  1. 1Soak the paneer cubes in warm water for 15 minutes to soften. Drain and set aside.
  2. 2Set the Instant Pot to sauté mode and add ghee. Once hot, add cumin seeds, slit green chillies, and ginger garlic paste. Sauté until the raw aroma of the ginger garlic paste dissipates, approximately 1.5 minutes.
  3. 3Add chopped onions to the pot and sauté for a couple of minutes. Then, add chopped tomatoes along with turmeric, red chilli powder, and coriander powder. Sauté for another couple of minutes until the tomatoes soften.
  4. 4Add the washed spinach and one cup of water to the pot. Set the Instant Pot to manual mode and cook on high pressure for 2 minutes. Allow natural pressure release for 5 minutes after cooking.
  5. 5Using a hand blender, blend the cooked ingredients in the pot until a smooth, creamy texture is achieved.
  6. 6Set the Instant Pot to sauté mode. Add garam masala, sugar, and whole milk to the blended mixture. Allow it to boil for 30 seconds. Add the paneer cubes and let them cook for 2 minutes. Top with crushed kasoori methi before serving.
  7. 7Ensure the paneer is well-cooked and serve the palak paneer hot with rice or chapati.
