This snack of Kerala is really popular as it is very crispy and yummy!
Ingredients
- 4.5 units Raw nendran banana
- 1 teaspoon Salt
- 1 teaspoon Turmeric powder
- 0.5 teaspoon Chilli powder
- 2 cups Sunflower oil
- 0.5 cup Water
Instructions
- 1Peel the raw nendran bananas. Spread some oil on your hands to prevent sticking, then slice the bananas using a knife or slicer.
- 2Wash the sliced bananas in warm water and allow them to dry. You can place them under sunlight for 2-3 hours to ensure they are thoroughly dried.
- 3In a small bowl, combine 1/2 cup of water, 1 teaspoon of salt, 1 teaspoon of turmeric powder, and 1/2 teaspoon of chilli powder. Mix well and set aside.
- 4Once the bananas are dried, heat sunflower oil in a pan over high flame. When the oil is hot, carefully add the sliced bananas in small batches.
- 5Reduce the flame to medium and fry until the bananas turn crispy. Gradually add the prepared salt mixture, allowing the bananas to sizzle.
- 6Remove the bananas from the oil once sizzling stops. Serve the crispy Kerala raw banana chips with hot tea.
