Green Beans Stir Fry/Green Beans Thoran

A simple and delicious side dish made with green beans, perfect to accompany rice.

Ingredients

  • 100 grams Green beans
  • 0.5 handful Onions
  • 2 units Green chillies
  • 2 tablespoons Vegetable oil
  • 0.5 handful Coriander leaves
  • 1 unit Dry red chillies
  • 3 tablespoons Coconut, grated
  • 0.5 teaspoon Mustard seeds
  • 1 teaspoon Salt

Instructions

  1. 1Finely chop the green beans to ensure even cooking.
  2. 2Place a pan over medium heat and add two tablespoons of vegetable oil. Once the oil is hot, add half a teaspoon of mustard seeds and allow them to splutter.
  3. 3Add the chopped onions, green chillies, coriander leaves, and dry red chillies to the pan. Sauté until the onions are translucent and the mixture is fragrant.
  4. 4Add the chopped green beans to the pan and mix well. Cook for about 10 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the beans are tender.
  5. 5Add salt to taste and stir well to combine with the beans.
  6. 6Add the grated coconut and cook for an additional 5 minutes, allowing the flavors to meld. Serve hot.
