Bread Pineapple Pudding/Dessert

Sweet and yummy Malabar dessert featuring layers of milk-soaked bread, pineapple, and a touch of chocolate.

Ingredients

  • 2 cups Whole Milk
  • 50 grams China grass
  • 1 cup Sugar
  • 1 medium Pineapple (Medium-sized pineapple)
  • 5.5 slices Milk bread (5-6 slices)
  • 0.5 cup Chocolate, grated (For garnishing)
  • 0.5 cup Water (For soaking China grass)

Instructions

  1. 1Peel the pineapple and cut it into small pieces.
  2. 2In a pan over medium heat, add the chopped pineapple and 4-5 tablespoons of sugar. Cook for 15 minutes, then remove from heat and set aside.
  3. 3In another pan, combine 2 cups of milk and 1 cup of sugar. Cook over medium heat for 5-7 minutes, then remove from heat.
  4. 4Soak the China grass in half a cup of water, then heat in a pan until completely melted. Immediately transfer it into the milk mixture and mix well.
  5. 5In a pudding tray or glass, spread the cooked pineapple as the first layer. Dip the bread slices in the milk-China grass mixture and layer them over the pineapple.
  6. 6Pour 4-5 tablespoons of the milk mixture over the bread layer, then sprinkle with the remaining cooked pineapple. Refrigerate for 3-4 hours.
  7. 7Garnish the pudding with grated chocolate and cherries before serving.
