Red Cheera Thoran/Lal Sag/Red Spinach
A flavorful side dish made with red spinach, coconut, and spices, perfect to accompany rice and curry.
Ingredients
- 1 bunch Red Spinach
- 8 units Red Onions
- 2 units Dry Red Chillies
- 1 tablespoon Coconut Oil
- 0.5 teaspoon Salt
- 0.5 teaspoon Turmeric
- 2 tablespoons Shredded Coconut
Instructions
- 1Thoroughly wash the red spinach and chop it finely.
- 2In a kadai, heat coconut oil over medium heat. Add coarsely chopped red onions and dry red chillies. Fry until the onions are translucent.
- 3Add the chopped spinach, salt, and turmeric to the kadai. Stir well and cook until the spinach is dry.
- 4Stir in the shredded coconut and cook for an additional minute. Turn off the heat.
- 5Serve the red cheera thoran as a side dish with rice and curry.
