Chilli Garlic Chowmein

One of the most famous street style Chowmein of North India

Ingredients

  • 250 gms Plain noodles
  • 0.5 unit/count Cabbage
  • 0.5 tbsp Chili garlic paste
  • 1 unit/count Onions
  • 5 tbsp Tomato Sauce
  • 0.5 tsp Red chilli powder
  • 1 tsp Salt
  • 3 tbsp Vinegar
  • 5 tbsp Oil
  • 1 unit/count Dry red chillies
  • 3.5 cloves Garlic cloves (3-4 cloves)
  • 4.5 cups Water (4-5 cups)

Instructions

  1. 1In a large pot, bring 4-5 cups of water to a boil. Add 2 tablespoons of oil and 250 grams of plain noodles. Boil until the noodles are soft, approximately 7-8 minutes.
  2. 2In a pan, heat 3 tablespoons of oil. Add a paste made from 1 dry red chilli and 3-4 garlic cloves. Cook for 3 minutes. Add 1 chopped onion and cook for an additional 2-3 minutes. Incorporate 1/2 chopped cabbage and cook for 2 minutes. Add salt, red chilli powder, 5 tablespoons of tomato sauce, and 3 tablespoons of vinegar. Mix well and cook for 3-4 minutes.
  3. 3Add the boiled noodles to the pan with the sauce. Mix thoroughly and cook for an additional 2 minutes. Serve hot.
