Fruit Custard
Fruit Custard is a delightful dessert featuring a creamy custard base mixed with a variety of fresh fruits. This dish is a nostalgic favorite, perfect for a refreshing treat.
Ingredients
- 3 tbsp Custard powder
- 2 cup Whole Milk
- 1 tsp Cardamom powder
- 1 cup Sugar (For a healthier option, substitute with jaggery or honey.)
- 0.5 cup Apple (Chopped)
- 0.5 cup Banana (Chopped)
- 0.5 cup Mango
- 0.5 cup Pomegranate
- 0.5 cup Strawberry
- 0.5 cup Water (For mixing custard powder)
Instructions
- 1In a pan over medium heat, bring the milk to a boil, stirring frequently to prevent it from sticking to the bottom.
- 2Add the cardamom powder to the boiling milk and let it simmer for an additional minute.
- 3In a separate bowl, mix the custard powder with 1/2 cup of water until smooth and lump-free. If using corn starch as a substitute, add vanilla extract to the milk.
- 4Turn off the heat and gradually add the custard mixture to the milk, stirring continuously. Add sugar or jaggery and mix well.
- 5Cook the mixture over low heat until it thickens, stirring frequently to prevent sticking.
- 6Remove from heat and allow the custard to cool. Refrigerate for about 1 hour.
- 7Once chilled, add the chopped fruits to the custard and mix gently.
- 8Garnish with dry fruits and cream if desired, and serve chilled.
