Roti Upma
A quick and tasty dish made from leftover rotis, perfect for breakfast, lunch, or as a snack. This recipe combines shredded rotis with a flavorful mix of spices and peanuts, garnished with fresh coriander.
Ingredients
- 5.5 units Leftover roti
- 2 tablespoons Oil
- 3 tablespoons Peanuts
- 5.5 units Garlic cloves
- 3.5 units Dry red chillies
- 0.25 teaspoon Cumin seeds
- 0.25 teaspoon Mustard seeds
- 1 unit Onions
- 0.25 cup Green peas (Optional)
- 6.5 units Coriander leaves
- 0.25 teaspoon Red chilli powder
- 0.25 teaspoon Turmeric
- 1 pinch Amchoor (dried mango powder)
- 0.5 teaspoon Salt
Instructions
- 1Using a mixer, finely shred the leftover rotis and set them aside.
- 2Add peanuts, garlic cloves, and dry red chillies to the mixer jar. Blend the ingredients into a fine powder.
- 3In a pan, heat oil and add cumin seeds and mustard seeds. After a minute, add chopped onions and green peas. Sauté for 2-3 minutes until the onions are translucent.
- 4Add red chilli powder, turmeric, amchoor, and salt to the pan. Sauté well, then add the shredded rotis and mix thoroughly.
- 5Add the peanut garlic powder prepared earlier to the pan. Mix well to ensure even distribution of flavors.
- 6Cook the mixture for 5-6 minutes on medium flame. Garnish with coriander leaves before serving.
