ALMOND STICKS

These Almond Sticks are a delightful treat, offering a satisfying crunch and a rich, buttery flavor. Ingredients

  • 2 cups Almonds, finely ground
  • 1/4 cup Granulated sugar
  • 1 cup Unsalted butter, softened
  • 3/4 cup Granulated sugar
  • 2 whole Large eggs
  • 2 cups All-purpose flour
  • 1 whole Egg yolk
  • 1/4 cup Chopped almonds

Instructions

  1. 1Grind 2 cups of almonds in a food processor until finely ground. Reserve 1/4 cup of the ground almonds and 1/4 cup of sugar for decorating.
  2. 2In a large bowl, cream together the softened butter and 3/4 cup of sugar until light and fluffy.
  3. 3Add the eggs, ground almonds, and flour to the creamed butter mixture. Mix until just combined.
  4. 4Roll the dough thin and cut into strips or squares using a fluted cookie cutter. Brush the tops with the egg yolk, sprinkle with the reserved chopped almonds and sugar.
  5. 5Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Bake for 20 minutes, or until golden brown.
