Boiled Potatoes (Another Way)

A traditional method for boiling potatoes using a double-water technique to ensure perfectly cooked, fluffy potatoes with easily removable skins.

  • 2 pounds Potatoes, washed very clean (Any variety suitable for boiling)
  • 1 teaspoon Salt (To taste)
  • 0 as needed Cold water (Enough to cover potatoes)

Instructions

  1. 1Wash the potatoes very clean under cold running water, scrubbing to remove any dirt.
  2. 2Place the washed potatoes in a saucepan and cover with cold water. Cover the saucepan with a lid and bring to a rapid boil over high heat.
  3. 3As soon as the water comes to a boil, immediately pour off all the water.
  4. 4Cover the potatoes with fresh cold water, add salt, and bring to a boil again over high heat.
  5. 5As soon as the water boils the second time, pour it off instantly. The potatoes will be sufficiently cooked at this point.
  6. 6Return the potatoes to the empty saucepan and shake over low heat for 1-2 minutes to dry them. Remove the skins before serving.
