Salted Pecans

A simple recipe for making delicious salted pecans by frying them in oil.

Ingredients

  • 1 pound Shelled pecans (Try to buy whole or half pecans for best results.)
  • 2 cups Vegetable oil (For frying)
  • 1 tablespoon Salt (Or to taste)

Instructions

  1. 1Pour the vegetable oil into a deep frying pan or pot. Heat over medium-high heat until it reaches a temperature of 350°F (175°C). Use a thermometer to check the temperature.
  2. 2Carefully add the pecans to the hot oil in a single layer. Fry for 2-3 minutes, or until they are lightly golden brown. Be careful not to overcook them, as they can burn easily. The dark skin makes it difficult to judge doneness by color alone.
  3. 3Remove the pecans from the oil with a slotted spoon and place them on a paper towel-lined plate to drain. Sprinkle immediately with salt while they are still hot. Let cool completely before serving.
