Cheese Custard Mixture

A savory cheese custard mixture.

Ingredients

  • 3 tablespoonfuls Butter
  • 3 tablespoonfuls All-purpose flour
  • 1/2 teaspoonful Salt
  • 1/2 teaspoonful Paprika
  • 1 1/4 cups Whole milk
  • 2 Egg yolks
  • 3/4 cup Grated cheese
  • 1/2 cup Heavy cream, whipped

Instructions

  1. 1In a saucepan, melt the butter over medium heat. Whisk in the flour, salt, and paprika. Gradually whisk in the milk until smooth. Cook, stirring constantly, until the sauce thickens, about 5 minutes.
  2. 2Remove the sauce from the heat. Whisk in the egg yolks and grated cheese until well combined. Let the mixture cool completely.
  3. 3Once the cheese mixture is cold, gently fold in the whipped cream until just combined.
