- to taste Butter
- 1 quart All-purpose flour
- 2 tablespoonfuls Butter (or vegetable shortening) (Originally lard. Substituted with butter for modern preference. Can also use vegetable shortening for similar texture.)
- 1 tablespoonful Salt
- as needed Water

- 2In a bowl, mix together the flour, butter (or shortening), and salt. Gradually add water until a dough forms. The amount of water needed will vary, add until the dough comes together.
- 3Butter a pie plate. Line the pie plate with a layer of the crust. Fill with the seasoned oysters. Cover with the remaining crust. Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C). Bake for 30 minutes, or until the crust is golden brown.
