French Coffee, No. 1
A classic French coffee recipe.
Ingredients
- 3 pints Water
- 1 cupful Ground Coffee
- 1/2 pint Cold Water
- 3 parts Java Coffee
- 1 part Mocha Coffee

Instructions
- 1Place the coffee grounds in a bowl. Pour 1/2 pint of cold water over the grounds and let stand for 15 minutes.
- 2Bring the remaining 2 1/2 pints of water to a boil.
- 3Strain the coffee mixture through a fine sieve. Place the coffee grounds in the strainer at the top of a French coffee-pot. Pour the boiling water over the coffee very slowly. Set the coffee-pot on the stove for 5 minutes, ensuring it does not boil.
- 4Remove the coffee-pot from the stove and pour in the cold water from the bowl to settle the coffee. Serve in another pot.
