Ingredients

  • 1/3 cup Butter
  • 1 1/2 cups Brown sugar
  • 1 large Egg
  • 1/2 cup Milk
  • 1/4 teaspoon Salt
  • 1 2/3 cups Flour
  • 3 teaspoons Baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon Cinnamon
  • 1/2 teaspoon Nutmeg
  • 8 Dates, cut fine

Instructions

  1. 1Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Cut the dates into small pieces. Butter a loaf cake pan.
  2. 2In a mixing bowl, cream the butter. Add the brown sugar and mix well until combined.
  3. 3Add the egg, milk, salt, flour, baking powder, cinnamon, nutmeg, and dates to the butter and sugar mixture. Beat for 2 minutes until well combined.
  4. 4Pour the batter into the prepared loaf cake pan. Bake in the preheated oven for 35 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
