Rajma Masala - Instant Pot Recipe
A flavorful and hearty North Indian dish made with red kidney beans, cooked to perfection in an Instant Pot with aromatic spices and herbs.
Ingredients
- 1.5 cups Rajma (Red Kidney Beans) (Soak overnight)
- 2 medium Onions (Medium size)
- 3 medium Tomatoes
- 3 count Green Chillies
- 1 teaspoon Cumin Seeds
- 2 tablespoons Oil
- 1 tablespoon Ginger Garlic Paste
- 1 bunch Coriander Leaves
- 1 teaspoon Turmeric
- 2 tablespoons Red Chilli Powder (Adjust to your spice level)
- 1 teaspoon Cumin Powder
- 1 tablespoon Coriander Powder
- 1 pinch Salt
- 4 cups Water (Enough to cover the beans)

Instructions
- 1Set the Instant Pot to sauté mode. Once hot, add cumin seeds and sauté for about 10 seconds until aromatic. Add the onions and sauté until they become translucent, approximately 3-4 minutes.
- 2Add the tomatoes to the pot and sauté until they become soft and squishy, about 3 minutes.
- 3Add all the spices including turmeric, red chilli powder, cumin powder, and coriander powder. Sauté for a few minutes to blend the flavors.
- 4Add the soaked rajma to the pot. Mix well and add enough water to cover the beans. Close the Instant Pot and set it to Beans mode for 45 minutes. Allow the pressure to release naturally.
- 5Add coriander leaves and mix well. Serve hot with rice or chapati.
