Green Peas Curry | Instant Pot
This is a simple green peas curry that pairs excellently with Chapati. Prepared using an Instant Pot, it combines the flavors of fresh herbs and spices for a delightful meal.
Ingredients
- 1 cup Green peas (If using hard green peas, soak them. Frozen peas do not require soaking.)
- 2 tbsp Oil
- 1 tsp Cumin seeds
- 1 unit/count Coconut, grated
- 5 unit/count Curry leaves
- 1 unit/count Onions (Diced)
- 1 unit/count Tomatoes (Diced)
- 1 inch Ginger
- 4 unit/count Garlic cloves
- 1 bunch Coriander leaves
- 1 bunch Mint
- 4 unit/count Green chillies (No need to cut as they will be ground.)
- 1 tsp Turmeric
- 2 tsp Red chilli powder
- 1 pinch Salt
- 2 tsp Coriander powder
- 1 tsp Cumin powder
Instructions
- 1Set the Instant Pot to sauté mode and add the oil. Once hot, add the cumin seeds and allow them to splutter. Then, add the diced onions, tomatoes, ginger, and garlic. Sauté for a few minutes until the onions are translucent.
- 2Add the coriander leaves, mint, and green chillies to the pot. Sauté until the onions are fully transparent. Add the grated coconut and use a hand blender to blend the mixture until smooth. Alternatively, let it cool, blend in a mixer grinder, and return to the pot.
- 3Add the green peas and curry leaves to the pot. Sauté for 30 seconds. Then, incorporate all the masalas: turmeric, red chilli powder, salt, coriander powder, and cumin powder. Sauté for an additional minute to blend the flavors.
- 4Set the Instant Pot to manual mode and cook on high pressure for 5 minutes. Allow the pressure to release naturally before opening the lid.
