Mutton Head Chaps/Aattin Thala Varattiyadh
The best side dish for mutton lovers which is very healthy!
Ingredients
- 1000 gms Mutton head (Clean and chop the mutton head into medium size pieces)
- 2 units Onions, finely chopped
- 2 units Tomatoes, finely chopped
- 2.5 units Green chillies, finely chopped (Use 2-3 chillies based on heat preference)
- 2 teaspoons Ginger garlic paste
- 2 tablespoons Coriander powder
- 1 tablespoon Black pepper powder
- 1 teaspoon Cumin seeds
- 1 tablespoon Lemon juice
- 1 teaspoon Garam masala
- 1 handful Coriander leaves
- 1 handful Curry leaves
- 4 tablespoons Coconut oil
- 1 teaspoon Ghee
- 2 tablespoons Tomato sauce
- 2 teaspoons Salt (Adjust to taste)
- 1 teaspoon Turmeric powder
- 0.5 cup Water (Warm water)
Instructions
- 1In a pan over medium heat, add coconut oil. Once hot, add cumin seeds followed by onions, tomatoes, green chillies, ginger garlic paste, and salt. Sauté until the onions are soft and cooked.
- 2Add black pepper powder, coriander powder, garam masala, turmeric powder, curry leaves, and coriander leaves to the pan. Mix well to combine.
- 3Add tomato sauce, lemon juice, ghee, and the cleaned and chopped mutton head to the pan. Combine well with the masala and adjust the salt as needed.
- 4Add a little warm water to the pan and allow the mixture to cook for 25-30 minutes on medium flame until the mutton is tender.
- 5Turn off the flame once the mutton is cooked. Serve hot with rice or roti and enjoy!
