Meat Rice/Irachi Chor

This is a simple and easy spicy meat rice that is so delicious!

Ingredients

  • 1000 grams Chicken or Beef (You can take either chicken or beef)
  • 1 cup Jeerakashala Rice (You can take basmati rice also.)
  • 4 tablespoons Ghee
  • 3 tablespoons Coconut Oil
  • 3 units Onions (Finely chopped)
  • 3 units Tomatoes (Finely chopped)
  • 4 units Green Chillies (Crushed green chillies)
  • 2 tablespoons Ginger Garlic Paste (You can take crushed ginger and garlic also instead of its paste.)
  • 1 teaspoon Turmeric Powder
  • 1 tablespoon Coriander Powder
  • 1 tablespoon Black Pepper Powder
  • 0.5 teaspoon Garam Masala
  • 1 handful Coriander Leaves
  • 1 handful Curry Leaves
  • 1 tablespoon Salt
  • 2 cups Water (Warm water)

Instructions

  1. 1In a deep or slow cooker over medium flame, add the ghee and coconut oil.
  2. 2Once the oil is hot, add the onions, tomatoes, green chillies, ginger garlic paste, and salt. Sauté until the onions are soft and translucent.
  3. 3Add the turmeric powder, coriander powder, black pepper powder, garam masala, coriander leaves, and curry leaves. Sauté and mix well until the spices are cooked and aromatic.
  4. 4Add the cleaned chicken or beef to the cooker. Cook for 20-25 minutes, adjusting the time based on the type of meat used.
  5. 5When the meat and masala are 80% cooked, add the jeerakashala or basmati rice and 2 cups of warm water. Adjust the salt, mix well, and cook until the rice is fully cooked, approximately 5-10 minutes.
  6. 6Once the rice is cooked, serve the delicious and aromatic Irachichor/meat rice hot.
