Jackfruit Seeds Curry/Chakkakkuru Curry
A traditional and village style jackfruit seeds curry!!
Ingredients
- 500 gms Jackfruit seeds (The seeds should be sun dried for one day and peel off the skin with a knife and cut in halves.)
- 1 unit/count Onions (Small sized and finely chopped)
- 2 unit/count Green chillies (Finely chopped)
- 1 tsp Salt (Salt is added as per the requirement)
- 0.5 tsp Turmeric powder
- 1 tsp Red chilli powder
- 1 tsp Mustard seeds
- 0.5 handful Curry leaves
- 3 tbsp Coconut oil
- 0.5 cup Water (For cooking jackfruit seeds)
Instructions
- 1In a pressure cooker, combine the chopped jackfruit seeds with a small amount of water. Secure the lid and cook on medium flame for 4-5 whistles. If not using a pressure cooker, cook for 15 minutes on medium flame.
- 2In a separate pan, heat the coconut oil over medium heat. Add the mustard seeds and allow them to splutter. Then, add the curry leaves, onions, and green chillies. Sauté until the onions are translucent. Adjust the salt as needed.
- 3Transfer the sautéed mixture to the cooked jackfruit seeds in the pressure cooker. Mix thoroughly to combine all ingredients. Serve the curry hot with rice.
