Papad ki sabzi (Papad curry)
This is the simplest and easiest form of curry available to make when you have uninvited guests coming over on short notice.
Ingredients
- 2 units Papad (If short sized, then 4 papads will be needed.)
- 1 tablespoon Oil
- 0.5 teaspoon Cumin seeds
- 1 teaspoon Coriander powder
- 0.5 teaspoon Red chilli powder
- 0.25 teaspoon Turmeric powder
- 200 ml Water (1 glass or 200ml water)
- 1 pinch Asafetida
- 0.5 teaspoon Salt
Instructions
- 1In a pan, heat the oil over medium heat until it is hot.
- 2Add the cumin seeds to the hot oil and allow them to crackle. Turn off the heat and let the oil cool slightly.
- 3Add the coriander powder, red chilli powder, turmeric powder, asafetida, and salt to the pan. Stir to combine.
- 4Pour the water into the pan and turn the heat back on. Bring the mixture to a boil.
- 5Once the water is boiling, add the papad pieces to the pan.
- 6Allow the papad to cook for 2 minutes on medium heat, then turn off the stove.
- 7The Papad curry is ready to serve. Enjoy it hot with your choice of bread or rice.
