Sprouted Green Gram Salad
A healthy, nutrient-rich salad featuring sprouted green gram, fresh vegetables, and a flavorful tempering.
Ingredients
- 2 cups Green Gram (Wash and keep in a well-porous cloth for three to four days to sprout.)
- 1 unit Onions, finely chopped
- 1 unit Tomatoes, finely chopped
- 0.5 unit Cucumber, finely chopped
- 1 unit Lemon Juice
- 1 unit Carrot, grated or finely chopped
- 1 unit Salt (Adjust to taste)
- 2 tablespoons Coconut, grated
- 2 teaspoons Coconut Oil
- 1 sprig Curry Leaves
- 1 teaspoon Mustard Seeds
- 3.5 units Garlic Cloves, finely chopped
- 1 unit Dry Red Chillies
Instructions
- 1In a large bowl, combine the sprouted green gram, grated carrot, chopped cucumber, chopped onion, and chopped tomato. Mix well and season with salt to taste.
- 2In a pan, heat the coconut oil over medium heat. Add mustard seeds and allow them to crackle. Add curry leaves, chopped garlic, and dry red chillies. Sauté for 2 to 3 minutes until fragrant. Remove from heat and pour over the salad mixture.
- 3Add the grated coconut to the salad and mix thoroughly. Drizzle with lemon juice and give it a final stir. The salad is now ready to serve.
