SCALLOPED PEACHES

This simple dessert transforms fresh peaches into a comforting and flavorful treat. Layers of breadcrumbs, sugar, and cloves create a warm, spiced base for the tender, baked peaches. Serve with a rich butter sauce or a dollop of cream for an elegant and satisfying finish.

Ingredients

  • 6 medium Peaches
  • 1 cup Bread crumbs
  • 1/2 cup Granulated sugar
  • 1/4 teaspoon Ground cloves
  • 4 tablespoons Butter (For butter sauce, or to taste.)
  • 1/2 cup Heavy cream (Optional, for serving.)

Instructions

  1. 1Peel the peaches. You can blanch them in boiling water for 30 seconds, then transfer to an ice bath to easily remove the skins. Slice the peaches in half and remove the pits, or leave them whole, as preferred.
  2. 2Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Place the prepared peaches in a baking tin. Sprinkle with layers of bread crumbs, sugar, and ground cloves.
  3. 3Bake in the preheated oven for 30 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and the peaches are tender.
  4. 4Serve the scalloped peaches warm, with a hot butter sauce or a dollop of cream, if desired.
