- 1 cake Active dry yeast (Originally compressed yeast. Substituted with active dry yeast for modern convenience.)
- 1 tablespoon Granulated sugar
- 1 cup Milk
- 1 cup Water
- 1 tablespoon Butter
- 3 cups Gluten flour
- 1 teaspoon Salt
Instructions
- 1In a large bowl, dissolve the yeast and sugar in 1 cup of scalded and cooled milk and 1 cup of lukewarm water. Let stand for 5 minutes, or until foamy.
