Ingredients

  • 1 piece Pineapple
  • 3 pieces Oranges
  • 3 pieces Bananas
  • as needed French mayonnaise
  • as needed Lettuce leaves
  • 1 cup Granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup Water
  • as needed Lemon juice
  • 1 cup Claret
  • 1/2 cup Granulated sugar
  • 1 piece Lemon

Instructions

  1. 1Slice the pineapple, oranges, and bananas.
  2. 2If using mayonnaise, pour it over the sliced fruit. Arrange the fruit on lettuce leaves and serve immediately.
  3. 3If not using mayonnaise, make a syrup by boiling 1 cup of sugar and 1/2 cup of water until thickened. Add lemon juice to taste. Let it cool slightly.
  4. 4Pour the lemon syrup over the fruit (if using). Let the fruit salad stand on ice for 1 to 2 hours to chill.
  5. 5Another dressing option: Combine 1 cup of claret, 1/2 cup of sugar, and a piece of lemon. Always use lemon juice instead of vinegar in fruit salads.
