BROD TORTE

Ingredients
- 6 whole Large eggs
- 7 tablespoons Granulated sugar
- 7 tablespoons Bread crumbs
- 1/8 pound Chopped almonds
- 1/2 teaspoon Allspice
- 1 tablespoon Jelly (any flavor)
- 1 whole Lemon zest (Grated rind of one lemon)
- 1 tablespoon Lemon juice (Juice of one lemon)
- 1 teaspoon Cinnamon
- 1/2 teaspoon Ground cloves
- 1/2 wine glass Brandy
Instructions
- 1Separate the yolks from the eggs. In a large bowl, beat the egg yolks well. Gradually add the granulated sugar and continue beating until the mixture becomes pale and thick, and it blisters slightly. This should take about 10 minutes.
- 2Add the bread crumbs, chopped almonds, jelly, allspice, lemon zest, lemon juice, cinnamon, cloves, and brandy to the egg yolk mixture. Mix well to combine.
- 3In a separate clean bowl, beat the egg whites until stiff peaks form. Gently fold the beaten egg whites into the batter. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Pour the batter into a greased and floured cake pan. Bake for approximately 40 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
