This refreshing vintage cocktail from 1917 combines the cooling, minty notes of white Crème de Menthe with the sweet, fruity depth of apricot brandy. A splash of fresh lime juice cuts through the sweetness, creating a perfectly balanced drink with a crisp, invigorating finish. Ingredients
- 1 cup Ice (Shaved ice (as per original) or ice cubes for shaking.)
- 1/2 fruit Lime (Juice only. Approximately 1/2 ounce.)
- 1 ounce White Creme de Menthe (Originally '2/3'. Converted based on standard 1.5 oz jigger (2/3 jigger = 1 oz).)
- 1/2 ounce Apricot Brandy (Originally '1/3'. Converted based on standard 1.5 oz jigger (1/3 jigger = 0.5 oz).)
Instructions
- 1Fill a large mixing glass with shaved ice (or ice cubes).
- 2Add the juice of half a lime, the white Creme de Menthe, and the Apricot Brandy to the mixing glass.
- 3Shake the mixture well until thoroughly chilled. Strain into a thin stem glass (cocktail glass) and serve immediately.
