Leg of Mutton Roasted
A classic recipe for roasting a leg of mutton.
Ingredients
- 1 leg Leg of Mutton
- as needed Flour
- as needed Black Pepper
- as needed Salt
- as needed Water
Instructions
- 1Wipe the leg of mutton very dry. Dust it with flour and pepper. Cut off the knuckle, remove the thick skin, and trim off any thick flank.
- 2Place a little salt and water in the dripping pan. Baste the joint with this for a short time. Then, use the gravy from the meat itself, basting every 10 minutes. Roast for 20 minutes per pound of mutton at 325°F (160°C).
- 3Serve the roasted leg of mutton with the gravy poured around it.
