Ingredients

  • 1/4 lb Almonds (shelled)
  • 1 qt Water
  • 1 teaspoon Salt
  • 3 tablespoons Olive oil

Instructions

  1. 1Place the almonds in a heat-safe bowl. Pour boiling water over the almonds, ensuring they are fully submerged. Cover the bowl and let the almonds stand for 15 minutes.
  2. 2Rinse the almonds with hot water. Place the almonds in a colander and rub the skins off. Discard the skins.
  3. 3Heat the olive oil in a frying pan over medium heat. Add the almonds to the pan. Stir constantly for 15 minutes, or until the almonds are golden brown and toasted.
  4. 4Pour the toasted almonds onto a clean cloth to absorb any excess oil. Sprinkle the salt over the warm almonds. Allow the almonds to cool completely before storing them in a covered tin can.
