Ingredients
- 1/2 cup Rice
- 2 quarts Water
- 1 teaspoon Salt
- 1 tablespoon Butter
Instructions
- 1Wash the rice under cold water until the water runs clear. This removes excess starch, resulting in fluffier rice.
- 2Bring the water to a boil in a saucepan. Add the washed rice and salt. Reduce the heat to low, cover, and simmer for 20 minutes, or until the rice is tender and the water is absorbed.
- 3Pour the cooked rice into a strainer and rinse with cold water to stop the cooking process. Place the rice in a preheated oven at 350°F (175°C) for 5 minutes to dry.
- 4Serve the rice warm, dotted with butter.
