Maple Fudge

Ingredients
- 1/4 lb Maple sugar
- 2 C Granulated sugar
- 2/3 C Milk
- 1/4 t Cream of tartar
- 2 T Butter
Instructions
- 1In a medium saucepan, combine maple sugar, granulated sugar, milk, cream of tartar, and butter. Mix all the ingredients in the order named.
- 2Cook the mixture over medium heat, stirring constantly, until the candy forms a soft ball when a small amount is dropped into a glass of cold water. This should take approximately 20-25 minutes.
- 3Remove the saucepan from the heat and let the fudge cool slightly. Once cooled, beat the fudge with a wooden spoon or a whisk until it becomes creamy and starts to lose its shine. This may take about 5 minutes.
- 4Pour the creamy fudge into a buttered plate or a shallow pan. Let it set at room temperature until firm. Cut into squares and serve.
