Ingredients

  • 1 cup Turnip cubes
  • 1/3 teaspoon Salt
  • 1 tablespoon Butter
  • 1 tablespoon Flour
  • 1/4 teaspoon Salt
  • 1/2 cup Milk

Instructions

  1. 1Peel the turnips. Cut into one-half inch cubes. Place the turnip cubes in a bowl of cold water and let them soak for 10 minutes.
  2. 2Cook the turnip cubes in boiling water in an uncovered utensil until they are transparent. Drain the turnips and sprinkle with 1/3 teaspoon of salt.
  3. 3Melt the butter in a saucepan. Add the flour and 1/4 teaspoon of salt, blend well. Gradually add the milk, stirring constantly, and cook until the sauce is creamy.
  4. 4Add the cooked turnips to the creamy sauce and stir to combine. Serve immediately.
