Parval Sabzi/Padavalangya Upperi/Snake Gourd Sabzi
A simple and flavorful Indian side dish made with snake gourd, spices, and onions, perfect to accompany rice or bread.
Ingredients
- 500 grams Snake gourd (Padwal)
- 0.25 teaspoon Turmeric
- 0.5 teaspoon Red chili powder
- 1 medium Onions (Finely chopped)
- 1 teaspoon Salt
- 1 tablespoon Sunflower oil
Instructions
- 1Scrape the skin of the snake gourd, cut it in half lengthwise, and remove the seeds. Wash thoroughly and cut into small pieces. Set aside.
- 2Heat the sunflower oil in a kadai over medium heat. Add the finely chopped onions and sauté for about 1 minute until they begin to soften. Add the snake gourd pieces, turmeric, and red chili powder. Sauté for 5 minutes, stirring occasionally.
- 3Add salt to the kadai, cover with a lid, and cook for 5 minutes. Remove the lid and continue cooking for an additional 5 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the snake gourd is tender and the dish is dry.
- 4Remove from heat and serve hot as a side dish with rice or bread.
