Mawa Barfi/Indian Condensed Milk Sweet
This is a famous Indian sweet made from mawa/khoya/condensed milk.
Ingredients
- 10 cups Skimmed Milk
- 500 grams Sugar
- 5 count Green Cardamom Pods
- 5 count Pistachios (Chopped for garnish)
Instructions
- 1In a kadhai or large cookware, add 10 cups of skimmed milk. Bring the milk to a boil, then reduce the heat and cook, stirring occasionally, until it thickens to a paste-like consistency, approximately 30 minutes.
- 2Turn off the heat and allow the thickened milk to cool for 2-3 minutes. Add 500 grams of sugar and the cardamom pods, mixing well until the sugar is fully dissolved.
- 3Pour the mixture onto a flat surface plate, spreading it evenly to the desired thickness. Allow it to cool completely.
- 4Sprinkle the chopped pistachios over the cooled mixture. Cut into square shapes using a knife and serve.
