Step 1
Take 1 cup rice and add 2 cups water to it and soak for 30 mins.
Step 2
Heat oil in pan and once its hot add mustard seeds. Once it splutters add urad dal.
Step 3
Once the urad dal is slightly brown add curry leaves and dry red chillies to it. Saute for 10 seconds.
Step 4
Add onions to it and salt and ginger saute till it turns transparent. Keep it aside till it cools down.
Step 5
Once cool, add curd, mix and keep it aside.
Step 6
Take the soaked rice (dont remove the water) and add 2 cups milk to it. Cook in a pressure for 1 whistle in a high flame or cook in an instant pot for 4 mins in high pressure. Wait to the steam to release naturally.
Step 7
Add rice to the curd mixture. Serve with pickle
