Step 1
Remove skin of kaya, cut it into 1/2 inch cubes & wash it in turmeric water.
Step 2
Then cook it on low flame with water & salt. It should be half cooked. Put very lttle water so that no water remains after it is half cooked.
Step 3
Then put oil in a small kadai spurt mustard seeds, urad dal, chana dal, add red chilly, slit green chilly, curry leaves & onion. Fry for some time & then add cooked kaya. Stir it for 5 minutes then add shredded coconut & give a quick stir.
Step 4
Kaya thoran is ready to be had with rice as side dish.
