Savory Worcestershire Almonds

Savory Worcestershire Almonds

A quick and easy recipe for buttery, savory almonds seasoned with Worcestershire sauce, salt, and a hint of cayenne pepper. Perfect as a standalone snack or served traditionally with fresh oysters.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup Almonds (Whole or sliced raw almonds)
  • 1.5 tablespoons Unsalted Butter (Enough to prevent almonds from burning)
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire Sauce
  • 0.25 teaspoon Salt
  • 0.125 teaspoon Cayenne Pepper (A few grains, adjust to taste for desired heat)

Instructions

  1. 1Measure out the almonds, butter, Worcestershire sauce, salt, and cayenne pepper. Have all ingredients ready for cooking.
  2. 2In a medium skillet over medium heat, melt the unsalted butter. Add the almonds and fry, stirring constantly with a wooden spoon, until they are well browned and fragrant. This typically takes about 5-7 minutes. Be careful not to burn them.
  3. 3Remove the skillet from the heat. Immediately add the Worcestershire sauce, salt, and cayenne pepper to the hot almonds. Toss thoroughly to coat all the nuts evenly. Serve warm, ideally with oysters, or as a standalone savory snack.
