A simple recipe for chicken forcemeat, likely intended as a base for other dishes. Modernized to be a versatile chicken mixture.

Ingredients

  • 1 pound Ground Chicken (Use good quality ground chicken.)
  • 0.5 Onion (Finely chopped)
  • 1 teaspoon Ginger (Grated)
  • 1 teaspoon Garlic (Minced)
  • 1 Green Chili (Finely chopped (optional))
  • 2 tablespoons Cilantro (Freshly chopped)
  • 0.5 teaspoon Salt (Or to taste)
  • 0.25 teaspoon Black Pepper (Freshly ground)
  • 1 Egg (As a binder)

Instructions

  1. 1In a bowl, combine the ground chicken, chopped onion, grated ginger, minced garlic, chopped green chili (if using), chopped cilantro, salt, and black pepper.
  2. 2Add the egg to the mixture. Mix well until all ingredients are thoroughly combined. This will help bind the forcemeat together.
  3. 3The chicken force-meat is now ready to be used in other recipes. It can be formed into small balls and pan-fried, baked, or steamed. Alternatively, it can be used as a filling for pastries or dumplings. Cook until the chicken is cooked through and no longer pink inside, about 15 minutes.
