Ingredients
- 1 1/2 ounces Old Tom Gin (Originally '1 jigger'. Converted to modern standard (1.5 oz). Old Tom Gin is slightly sweeter than London Dry.)
- 1/2 ounce Lemon juice (Originally '1/2 pony'. Converted to modern measurement (1 pony ≈ 1 oz).)
- 1/2 ounce Orange juice (Originally '1/2 pony'. Converted to modern measurement (1 pony ≈ 1 oz).)
- 2 dashes Rock candy syrup (or rich simple syrup) (Rock candy syrup is a supersaturated sugar syrup. Can substitute with rich simple syrup (2:1 sugar to water).)
- 1 cup Fine ice (crushed ice) (Quantity estimated for filling a tall glass.)
Instructions
- 1Fill a tall, thin glass (such as a Collins or Highball glass) completely with fine or crushed ice.
- 2Pour the lemon juice, orange juice, rock candy syrup, and Old Tom Gin directly over the ice in the glass.
- 3Stir the mixture well with a bar spoon to chill and combine the ingredients. Serve immediately with the ice remaining in the glass.
