BLIZ'S ROYAL RICKEY
This refreshing historical cocktail elevates the traditional Rickey with the addition of herbal vermouth and sweet raspberry syrup. A crisp blend of gin and fresh lime juice is topped with effervescent ginger ale, creating a complex yet thirst-quenching flavor profile that balances tart, sweet, and botanical notes. Served over cracked ice and garnished with seasonal fruit, this drink offers a sophisticated and cooling beverage perfect for warm afternoons.
Ingredients
- 1/2 cup Cracked ice (Originally '3 lumps Cracked Ice'. Quantity estimated for a standard highball glass.)
- 1/2 fruit Lime (or lemon) (Use 1/2 lime or 1/4 lemon. Juice and shell are typically used in a Rickey.)
- 4 dashes Raspberry syrup (Adds sweetness and color.)
- 1 ounce Vermouth (Originally '1 pony'. A pony is approximately 1 fluid ounce. Sweet or dry vermouth can be used based on preference.)
- 1 1/4 ounces Gin (Originally '3/4 jigger'. A standard jigger is 1.5 oz, so 3/4 is approx 1.125 oz. Rounded to 1 1/4 oz for modern measurement.)
